How billing works

You pay for the time you actually spend on a call — the number of connected seconds multiplied by the creator’s per-second rate — plus a flat $0.75 service fee per call and any applicable taxes. There are no subscriptions and no prepaid balance.

The hold when a call connects

When a call connects, we place a temporary authorization hold on your card for the most the call could cost — the length you chose, plus the $0.75 fee and tax. A hold is not a charge; it just reserves funds against your available credit while you talk.

The charge when you hang up

When the call ends, we charge only for the seconds you were actually connected. The unused part of the hold is released by your bank, usually within a few business days. If a call never connects, or connects for no billable time, you’re not charged and the entire hold is released.

A worked example

Say a creator’s rate is $0.05/sec and you choose a 5-minute (300-second) length. At connect we hold up to $15.75 plus tax. If you actually talk for 2 minutes (120 seconds), you’re charged $6.00 for the time + $0.75 fee + tax, and the rest of the hold falls away.
